Banked Rest Days Explained

How extra active days roll into banked rest days so you can take lighter weeks without losing progress.

Life does not follow a perfect training schedule. Lumipo lets you bank rest days when you exceed the 3-day minimum, then use them on weeks when you need recovery or travel gets in the way.

How Banked Rest Days Work

Lumipo requires 150 elevated heart rate minutes across at least 3 days each week. When you hit 4 or 5 active days, the extra days convert into banked rest days you can use later.

Using Banked Days on Lighter Weeks

Travel, illness, or a busy schedule can pull you below 3 active days. Banked rest days fill the gap so you still qualify for that week's minutes.

Your dashboard shows how many banked days you have and when they were earned. You cannot bank more than two rest days at a time.

  • Active on 4+ days in a week? Extra days become banked rest days.
  • Banked days cover weeks when you fall below the 3-day minimum.
  • Your minute balance is unaffected when you use a banked day.
  • Banked rest days do not expire while your membership is active.
  • Banked days only apply to the 3-day requirement, not the 150-minute total.

1. Exceed the Weekly Minimum

Hit 150 minutes across 4 or 5 days instead of the required 3. Each extra active day banks one rest day for later.

2. Check Your Balance

Open your dashboard to see banked rest days available. The count updates automatically after each qualifying week.

3. Use Them When You Need To

On a lighter week, banked days count toward the 3-day minimum. You still need 150 total minutes to earn rewards that week.

Banked rest days reward consistency without punishing recovery weeks.

Stay Active Without Burning Out

Lumipo is built for real schedules. Bank rest days during strong weeks and spend them when life gets in the way.

Why rest days are part of the product

Training plans that ignore recovery eventually fail. Lumipo expects 150 elevated minutes across at least three active days each week, and banked rest days exist so a hard week can subsidize a lighter one without wiping your progress.

When you clear more than three active days, surplus days can bank for later. That means a travel week, sick week, or deliberate deload does not automatically break the habit loop you already built.

How banking works

Hit four or five active days and the extras become rest credit you can spend later. Exact bank limits and Plus bonuses appear in your dashboard because those rules can include membership perks. The principle stays stable: surplus effort today creates flexibility tomorrow.

Rest days are not a loophole for zero activity forever. They are a buffer for real life. Use them when you need them, then return to the three-day rhythm so your minute balance and streak logic stay healthy.

Injury pause vs banked rest

Banked rest covers short disruptions. An injury pause is for longer setbacks when elevated training is not appropriate. Pause protects your membership intent without forcing unsafe sessions just to keep a tracker green.

If you are unsure which tool to use, start with banked rest for a single off week. If pain or medical guidance says stop elevated work for longer, use injury pause and talk to a clinician—not a rewards app—about return-to-play timing.

Practical examples

Example A: You train Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Extra days help bank rest for next week’s work trip. Example B: You crush a race week, then take two easy days while still clearing 150 minutes with walks. Example C: You get sick, spend banked rest, and resume the following week without shame-spiraling over a blank calendar.

Open Rest and recovery in your dashboard to see banked balance, apply a rest day, or start a pause. The goal is durable participation—not perfection theater.
